Over the last two weekends, Dick has been finishing up the built-in buffet. He placed glass shelves in the unit so that the puck lights could shine through and show off the china and crystle that belonged to his mother. It's great to enjoy the fruit of our labor and to have a sense of accomplishment.
The next project was the fireplace. Dick's vision all along was to have bookshelves on each side of the fireplace. He finally finished it off on Monday. Doesn't it look lovely? It has that old world charm that fits with the age of the building. He needs to put crown molding up next to the ceiling, but at least the fireplace is done and another completion to enjoy.

Wow! Those are both AMAZING! It's always sooo nice to have some projects done and be able to ENJOY them. What fun!
I love the trunk that Dick made for Claire too! It's beautiful! I have been on the hunt for something to store toys in that would be living room worthy and haven't seen anything CLOSE to that. What a treasure ... I'm sure it will be enjoyed for genereations! :)
That looks fabulous! What a difference from when I was there, just a month ago. You do absolutely beautiful work, Dick - I wish you lived closer! :)
